It’s a good idea to keep a couple of different options on hand so you don’t have to scramble when you need to wash a garment that won’t get clean with your normal detergent. That’s because most standard detergents are designed to treat cotton and don’t work as well on synthetic materials common in activewear. One type of detergent is probably not going to be enough for the variety of clothes that you need to wash. (When you wash another load, the clothes will have nowhere to go until you empty the dryer!) This is a nasty cycle once it gets started, so make it a point to do laundry when you have time to finish the task completely and put all of the clothes away once they are dry. However, in addition to letting the clothes get wrinkly, procrastinating will delay your future laundry activities. When a load of laundry has finished drying, it’s easy to ignore the buzzer and just let it sit in the machine while you do other things. This will help to reduce clutter, and cleaning up after doing laundry won’t be so frustrating or time-consuming-you’ll just put things back where they belong! Don’t Let It Linger Take the items that are left back into the laundry room and find a dedicated spot for each one. You’ll likely find at least a few things that simply don’t need to be in your laundry room anymore. Take everything that is currently in your laundry room out and decide what actually needs to stay. This is a classic organizational tip, and it certainly applies here. Here are some great laundry room organization ideas! Everything has a Place If you shake your head each time you walk into your laundry room, this article is for you. That said, laundry rooms can be particularly challenging. It might seem like a small thing, but staying organized can go a long way toward keeping your stress levels down and your mind clear.
